MORATINOS RECEIVES PILAR AND JOAN MIRÓ FOUNDATION GRANT.
The Spanish artist Marian Moratinos has received the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation Grant, it was announced by 511 GALLERY today.
The Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation was founded in 1981 when Joan Miró and his wife donated the artist's Mallorca workshop and many of his own works to the Palma City Council, in the hopes of preserving Miró's creative environment for posterity. The Foundation is a meeting place for artists to exchange ideas and collaborate, while creating cultural awareness in the modern world. Through the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation Grant, Moratinos was awarded a residency with the Slade School of Fine Arts, University College in London for the summer of 2008. In 2003, Moratinos also received the Pilar and Joan Miró Fundation Foreign Workshops Grant.
